The 2025 BET Awards nominations are here, and Kendrick Lamar is leading the pack with an impressive 10 nods.
The “Squabble Up” rapper’s nominations span some of the most prestigious categories. His critically acclaimed album GNX is up for Album of the Year, while the chart-topping anthem “Not Like Us” earned a nod for Video of the Year. He’s also a strong contender in the Viewer’s Choice Award, securing three nominations for “Not Like Us,” “Luther” (featuring SZA), and “Like That” (with Future & Metro Boomin).
Collaboration is key for Lamar this year, as he’s nominated for Best Collaboration in three tracks: “Like That,” “30 for 30,” and “Luther” (featuring SZA). His creative vision behind the camera also shines, with a nomination for Video Director of the Year alongside Dave Free. Rounding out his nods, Lamar is recognized for Best Male Hip Hop Artist, a category he’s no stranger to dominating.
But Kendrick isn’t the only one stacking wins. Doechii, Drake, Future, and GloRilla each racked up six nominations, turning this into one of the most competitive BET Awards in recent memory. Metro Boomin follows closely with five, while SZA and The Weeknd picked up four apiece.
Drake’s nominations include Album of the Year for “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U,” Video of the Year for “Family Matters,” and Viewer’s Choice for “Nokia.” He’s also up for Best Group alongside PartyNextDoor, Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, and Best Male Hip Hop Artist.
Future, meanwhile, is competing in Album of the Year for We Don’t Trust You (with Metro Boomin), plus Video of the Year for “Type Shit” (with Boomin, Travis Scott, and Playboi Carti). His standout “Like That” collab with Lamar and Boomin also earned nods for Best Collaboration and Viewer’s Choice, alongside a Best Group nomination and a repeat shot at Best Male Hip Hop Artist.
The 25th BET Awards, hosted by Kevin Hart, air live on June 9 at 8 p.m. ET from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Voting for the Viewer’s Choice Award opens soon.
Announced Thursday (May 8), this year’s nominations spotlight Black excellence across music, film, television, and sports—handpicked by the BET Voting Academy, a curated blend of industry insiders, creatives, and fans.
