Liz Crokin, a former journalist at Star Magazine, is raising questions about the death of Cathy White, a woman alleged to have had an affair with rapper Jay–Z in 2010.
Crokin had been in the process of preparing an exposé on White’s alleged affair with the Brooklyn rapper in 2011 after rumors of their supposed relationship started gaining significant traction in the media.
According to Crokin, White initially denied any association with Jay-Z or involvement in any parties with him. However, after Crokin confronted her with photographic evidence of White, Jay-Z, and Diddy at Tao nightclub in Las Vegas, she expressed a willingness to consider making her story public.
However, the anticipated tell-all never materialized as Cathy White died shortly thereafter, reportedly from a brain aneurysm. The official cause of death did not sit well with Crokin, who suspected foul play in the sudden death of the 28-year-old fitness and beauty expert
“I found it highly suspicious that a seemingly healthy 28-year-old woman would drop dead from an aneurism” Crokin stated.
Crokin’s suspicions were compounded by sources claiming White had intended to reveal her affair with Jay-Z. She notes the timing of White’s death coinciding with Beyonce‘s pregnancy announcement with Blue Ivy at the 2011 VMAs, suggesting a potential “PR nightmare” for the couple if the story had surfaced then.
Adding to the controversy, Claudia Jordan, a close friend of White, was reported to believe that an influential rapper was involved in White’s death.
Crokin, drawing parallels to the legal troubles plaguing Diddy, expressed hope that Jay-Z would also face scrutiny. “It’s only a matter of time before spirit cooking Jay Z is exposed like Diddy. There’s a reason Kanye said Jay’s got murderers,” Crokin posted on X. “He’s evil to the core. I pray there will be justice for Cathy White one day.”
Cathy Koreana White, a Howard University graduate and CEO of her own public relations firm, White Label PR, was found dead in her Manhattan apartment on September 2, 2011.
In her post, Crokin called for justice for Cathy White, suggesting that time would unveil the truth behind the allegations.
