Kendrick Lamar’s Grand National Tour is off to an explosive start, breaking records right out of the gate. The first stop of the tour, held on April 19 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, grossed an impressive $9.1 million, according to Touring Data. The sold-out show at U.S. Bank Stadium, which also featured SZA, drew a crowd of 47,354 — making it the most-attended concert in the stadium’s history.
The $9,124,989 gross marks a historic moment for hip-hop, as Kendrick becomes the first rapper to earn that much from a single concert. The feat surpasses the previous record set by Eminem in 2019.
Kendrick is no stranger to dominating the live performance scene. His Big Steppers Tour was crowned the highest-grossing rap tour of all time in 2023, a title later overtaken by Drake’s It’s All a Blur Tour in 2024.
Fresh off his record-breaking 2025 Super Bowl halftime performance, Kendrick reunited with former labelmate SZA to launch the Grand National Tour. The opening night wasn’t just about music — Kendrick also stirred the pot in his ongoing beef with Drake by playing a mock lawsuit deposition during a pause in the set.
The 39-date stadium tour continues tonight (April 29) in Atlanta, and will make stops in major cities including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Paris, London, and Rome before wrapping up in Stockholm, Sweden on August 9.
.@kendricklamar is officially the first rapper in history to gross over $9 million in a single concert as headlining or co-headlining artist, breaking @Eminem's 2019 record in Melbourne.
