The first-week sales projections for Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR’s joint album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, are in.
According to HitsDailyDouble, the album, released under Republic, OVO, and Santa Anna, is expected to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with around 250,000 units, including 28,000 in pure sales.
While securing the top spot is no surprise, the numbers mark a noticeable drop from Drake’s last two collaborative efforts. His 2015 mixtape with Future, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, debuted with 535,000 units, while his 2022 joint album with 21 Savage, Her Loss, opened with 404,000 units.
Some fans have floated theories that the lower figures might be linked to Spotify allegedly limiting the album’s streams, though these claims remain unconfirmed and are largely dismissed as speculative.
CLEAREST PROOF ON SPOTIFY blacklisting Drake / Partynextdoor and $$$ 4U. Compare top artists Apple and Spotify number differences, it’ll be small. Now look at DRAKE PND numbers and you’ll see the Spotify one is WAY LOWER than Apple. This is significant, how can they both be? 5571… pic.twitter.com/JDx0yUeKBX
