Enchanting has been confirmed to have died from an accidental overdose.
According to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office, the 26-year-old rapper died from a combination of oxycodone and benzodiazepines. The news was confirmed by TMZ on Friday, August 23rd.
Oxycodone is a potent synthetic opioid, while benzodiazepines, marketed under names like Valium, Xanax, and Klonopin, are depressants often prescribed for anxiety and insomnia. The combination of these substances is known to be particularly dangerous, contributing to a high risk of overdose.
News of Enchanting’s passing first emerged on June 11, when her sister and a man believed to be her boyfriend confirmed her death, shortly after it was reported that she had been in critical condition in the ICU. She had been admitted to the hospital on June 1 due to a medical emergency, the details of which were not disclosed at the time.
“I love you forever, you knew what’s up.” (three heartbreak emojis),” Enchanting’s boyfriend, MotionGod Bandman wrote on facebook.
Enchanting, whose real name was Channing Nicole Larry, had recently signed with Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records in 2020, as the label’s “First Lady.” Prior to her tragic death, she had been making waves in the music industry. Emcganting collaborated with prominent artists like Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, and the late Big Scarr.
Gucci Mane was visibly shaken by the news of her death. He took to Instagram to pay tribute, posting a heartfelt message that read, “So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady, a true star. We’re all going to miss you, Chant.”
