The wrestling world is in mourning as news breaks that WWE legend Sid Vicious has tragically passed away at the age of 63. Sid, whose real name was Sid Eudy, died after a long battle with cancer, his family announced on Monday (Aug. 26).

Sid’s son, Gunnar Eudy, shared the heartbreaking news in a statement: “He was a man of strength, kindness, and love, and his presence will be greatly missed. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we grieve this loss.”

Sid Vicious was a prominent figure in professional wrestling, both in WWE and WCW, where he won multiple world championships. Starting his career in the late 1980s, Sid quickly became known for his imposing presence and fierce in-ring style. He wrestled under various names, including Sycho Sid and Sid Justice, and headlined some of wrestling’s biggest events, such as WrestleMania VIII and WrestleMania XI.

Sid was involved in memorable rivalries with some of the greatest names in the sport, including Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, and Sting. His intense feuds and powerful persona made him a fan favorite and cemented his place as one of wrestling’s most unforgettable figures.

Despite his successes, Sid’s career was not without its challenges. He suffered several significant injuries, including a devastating leg injury during a WCW Pay-Per-View event in 2001, as well as shoulder, back, and knee issues that affected him throughout his career. His last match took place in August 2017, where he faced Paul Rosenberg as part of Great North Wrestling.

Ric Flair, a fellow wrestling legend and one of Sid’s former rivals, expressed his condolences on social media. “So sorry to hear of the passing of Sid Justice. For all of you out there that have known that we hadn’t gotten along in business—the last time I saw him, we hugged. He called me Champ, and I said thank you! He has a beautiful family, and his family should know that he was much more than a softball player. A man. Period. Rest in peace!”

Sid Vicious leaves behind a lasting legacy in the world of professional wrestling. He is survived by his wife, Sabrina Paige, and his two sons, Frank and Gunnar. His contributions to the sport, his memorable matches, and his larger-than-life persona will not be forgotten. Document Rapsends its deepest condolences to Sid’s family during this difficult time.
